Overview
Product information
Toluene is a methyl-substituted aromatic hydrocarbon used as both an industrial solvent and a chemical feedstock. It is a clear, volatile and flammable liquid with a characteristic aromatic odor.
Established uses include paint, coating and adhesive solvents and manufacture of other chemicals. Nitration-grade material requires controlled impurity specifications because downstream aromatic chemistry can be sensitive to sulfur, water and other contaminants. The Hamara inventory lists “Nitration Grade 99.5%,” but the full nitration-grade specification should be confirmed before publication.

General guidance
Handling and storage
Toluene SDS guidance requires control of vapour exposure and ignition sources. Use adequate ventilation, suitable personal protection and grounded equipment where appropriate for flammable-liquid transfer. Keep containers tightly closed in approved flammable-liquid storage and separated from oxidizers and incompatible substances. Exposure controls and storage requirements must follow the current product SDS.
