Overview
Product information
Acetic acid is a two-carbon carboxylic acid used extensively as a chemical feedstock and process chemical. Highly concentrated material is commonly described as glacial acetic acid and is a clear, corrosive liquid with a characteristic pungent odor.
Its principal industrial role is as an intermediate for acetate derivatives and other organic chemicals, with additional uses in formulated processes and petroleum-related operations. Concentration and water content affect the commercial specification. The Hamara inventory lists 99.8% glacial material, which should be confirmed against the intended supply specification.

Handling and storage
The SDS for glacial acetic acid identifies both corrosive and flammable-liquid hazards. Handle with suitable eye, face and skin protection and adequate ventilation, away from ignition sources and incompatible materials. Keep containers securely closed under the storage conditions specified by the current SDS. This general summary does not replace the current product SDS.
