Overview

Product information

Sodium metabisulfite is an inorganic sulfite salt with reducing and oxygen-scavenging properties. It is commonly supplied as a white crystalline powder and releases bisulfite species when dissolved in water.

In mineral processing, SMBS is used in selected flotation circuits as a depressant, reducing agent or water-chemistry modifier. Its effect depends on pH, ore mineralogy and other reagents in the circuit. The inventory’s 97% minimum technical specification should be confirmed against Hamara’s supplier TDS before it is presented as an available grade.
