Overview

Product information

Sodium silicate is a family of soluble sodium silicates commonly described as water glass. PubChem lists CAS 1344-09-8 and Na2SiO3 as a representative composition, but commercial products are defined more meaningfully by their silica-to-sodium oxide ratio and solids content.

In mineral processing, sodium silicate is used as a dispersant, depressant and process modifier in selected flotation systems. The Hamara inventory specifies modulus 2.0–3.5, confirming that the product should be treated as a formulation range rather than one fixed molecular compound.
